Special Education Services at Aneth Comminity School

Aneth Community School is a holistic learning environment that provides the necessary accommodations and learning resources for all students with special needs. Every student deserves a tailored educational journey that develops their strengths.

Our special education program includes a wide range of special needs services, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, counseling services, and more, as our collaborative and comprehensive assessments determine those adjustments. Students will receive the specialized needs and attention that help them achieve their maximum potential.

Our highly qualified and dedicated special education staff recognizes the learning limitations of every Eagle and equips them with the instructive tools and resources they need to succeed. Our classrooms are inclusive, and students with special needs are integrated with their classmates to foster social interactions, friendships, and belonging.

We empower students with special needs to become confident and independent lifelong learners. By collaborating with the students, teachers, and parents/guardians, we are able to create Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). This is how we set specific goals, determine classroom accommodations, and serve a student’s unique needs.

We comply with the Individuals with Disabilities Act (“IDEA”) as well as Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1974. These acts ensure students with disabilities receive the same educational opportunities as students without disabilities.

Section 504 Rights and Procedural Safeguards:

  • Participate in and benefit from the school’s educational programs without discrimination based on disability.
  • If eligible, have your student receive accommodations under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
  • Be provided an equal opportunity to participate in the school’s nonacademic and extracurricular activities.
  • Be educated in facilities and receive services that are comparable to those provided to students without disabilities.
  • Receive accommodations and/or auxiliary aids and services to allow your child an equal opportunity to participate in school activities.
  • Receive auxiliary aids and services without cost to allow your child an equal opportunity to participate in school activities. This does not include educational aids unrelated to your child’s disability for which fees are imposed on parents of all children.
  • Receive special education services if needed.

Aneth Community School believes our special education program ensures academic achievement, social-emotional success, and overall well-being. Parents/guardians, teachers, specialists, and students work together to develop the best educational plans.
