Student Services at Aneth Community School

Aneth Community School offers a holistic educational program that provides students with a variety of services and resources to meet their mental, physical, emotional, and social needs. Our focus is on equipping every student with the tools to be successful. This educational journey includes victories and challenges that will define who they are and who they will become.

Special Education

We comply with Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. These laws ensure that a student will not receive any form of discrimination based on their disability. Following these regulations, Aneth Community School identifies, evaluates, determines eligibility, and provides accommodations as deemed necessary for students to succeed at school.

Education Resources

Our mission is to ensure that every student receives education services that meet their highest potential. The Aneth Community School curriculum connects every student, teacher, and parent/guardian with our digital learning portals, electronic learning management systems, and comprehensive education recordkeeping. On staff at Aneth Community School is a full-time social worker.  Services from the social worker include supporting families with school related needs.  Our educational program creates a challenging and diverse learning environment to develop lifelong learners in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Meals

Our friendly and capable cafeteria staff prepares healthy and diverse food items that restore students’ energy and focus to help them accomplish their learning goals. Students must follow all cafeteria rules to ensure safety.

Transportation

Riding the bus is a privilege. In order to ensure all students’ safety, all rules must be followed. Our daily bus service for day students will only stop at designated stops, and any changes to the bus route must be approved beforehand by the principal and bus driver. Our bus drivers have the authority to maintain a safe environment and enforce rules for the well-being of all passengers. Riding privileges may be restricted or suspended if bus/school rules are violated.

Classroom Library

Each classroom has a library for students to choose books of interest to them. All staff welcomes students to read, learn, and study. Books can be checked out (with classroom teacher), and returned according to the teacher's discretion.

Health Services

Aneth Community School Health Services is a collaborative effort between school staff, parents/guardians, and students. We have strict procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all students and staff. Any students in a class who becomes sick will have their parents/guardians notified.  Parents/ guardians will need to pick up their students immediately to prevent the spread of illness. All student medications will be administered in accordance with BIE’s Medication Administration Policy both at the dorm and during the school day.

Athletics

Athletics is an excellent path to personal development and discovering new talents. The discipline and teamwork learned through sports and competition allow students to grow mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially. Athletics is also a privilege for which students must maintain eligibility to participate. Physical exams, grade checks, and attendance will be monitored to ensure student eligibility. Students learn various life skills they carry with them for the rest of their lives.
